You may think to yourself, "yeah it's a simple idea, it should be cheap" but actually, that's not the case. Us designers have to do a lot of behind-the-scenes work in order to create a "simple" logo idea. Just know that the design process is not only the logo design. About 80% is research, exploration and problem-solving, while the other 20% is the fun stuff you see online or out and about.
You may also say "well I know someone who can do it at a cheaper cost" and if that's what you want, go for it! They might not have the same experience as someone who has been doing this for years, nor do as much behind-the-scenes work, and you might not be satisfied with the end result. Remember, you get what you pay for.
Invest on a designer who will take the time to create a relationship with you and understand your goals and needs! Those designers you find on Fiverr who are charging $5 for a logo can probably just design something off the top of their head without knowing anything about your business, your audience, or your competition.
So think about what you want to do for your brand's image. Would you want to invest in a professional looking logo that creates trust with your audience, or go with the cheap route and not get the results you anticipated?
"Design is so simple, that is why it's complicated" - Paul Rand.
